Hello, this is Menat-Allah Kamaledin

I created this website because I suck at shallow talk.
It is genuinely one of my nightmares when I meet someone for the first time and they ask me:
“What do you do?”

I write, am I a writer?

I take pictures, am I a photographer?
I think, am I a thinker?
I travel, so am I a traveler?
It is a lot easier to believe I do things, than to believe I am these things.
And maybe that is what this website is.
Not a proper answer to “Who are you?”
Just a much longer refusal to answer it in one sentence.

To make is to live.

The world moves fast, so I would rather slow down.

I follow the hands of people who still work with them; people whose knowledge lives in practice as much as in words.

Through this project, I try to learn from the unspoken wisdom and struggles that have survived across generations: knowledge carried through hands, repetition, instinct and experience.

I want to document the humanity behind this work while preserving the dignity of the people I meet, and to notice the world through the eyes of a curious storyteller.

This is a growing project, one I keep returning to and adding to as I experience more of this life.
