About | Menat-Allah Kamaledin

Hello, this is Menat-Allah Kamaledin.

People call me Menat, probably because of the guilty dash.

In Arabic, my name is pronounced Menna. We write it the way we say it, so the only time Menat-Allah is actually pronounced Menat-Allah is when you say it all together. This being said, you can call me Menat or Menna.

I created this website because I suck at shallow talk.

It is genuinely one of my nightmares when I meet someone for the first time and they ask me:

“What do you do?”

I just know that the faster they want me to answer it, the more it feels like a trap.

It sounds like "What do you do", but it lands as "Who you are?"

The easiest answer is that I work as a communications consultant.

Which is true.

The answer I actually want to give is that I am a storyteller.

But then again, what does that even mean?

I write, am I a writer?

I take pictures, am I a photographer?

I think, am I a thinker?

I travel, so am I a traveler?

It is a lot easier to believe I do things, than to believe I am these things.

And maybe that is what this website is.

Not a proper answer to “Who you are?”

Just a much longer refusal to answer it in one sentence.
